Roco Kingdom Buddy Pods: Thermal, Net, and Prism Guide
Learn how Roco Kingdom Buddy Pods work, when to use Thermal or Net Pods, and what the Prism Pod demonstration confirms.
Roco Kingdom Buddy Pods are central to capturing Jinies, but each demonstrated Pod has a different purpose. Choosing the right Roco Kingdom ball for a target may improve your capture approach, while the Prism Pod can produce a distinct Prismatic result. Here is what the official footage confirms—and what remains unknown.
What Are Buddy Pods in Roco Kingdom?
Buddy Pods are capture items used when players attempt to add Jinies to their collection. The official Roco Kingdom Gameplay Overview shows Pods being used during the catching process and also previews players sharing items such as eggs and Buddy Pods during cooperative play.
The VGTimes Gamescom developer interview, published August 27 and updated September 16, 2026, describes Jini capture both in battle and directly in the open world. It mentions that Pod effectiveness can vary and that matching a Pod to a target’s type matters. However, the interview is a preview of an earlier build, not a final item database or launch specification.
Roco Kingdom Buddy Pods Compared
The official international gameplay video demonstrates three Pod examples:
| Pod | Demonstrated target or result | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Thermal Pod | Ice and Fire targets | Used for Ice/Fire-class Jini examples |
| Net Pod | Water and Wind targets | Used for Water/Wind-class Jini examples |
| Prism Pod | A Jini becomes Prismatic after capture | The demonstrated outcome is conditional on capture |
The footage does not show a complete Buddy Pod catalogue. It also does not provide exact catch percentages, type bonuses, or a guaranteed success rate for any Pod.
When Should You Choose Thermal or Net Pods?
Use the target’s demonstrated elemental grouping as a practical starting point:
- Identify the Jini’s type before choosing an item.
- Select Thermal Pod for an Ice or Fire target.
- Select Net Pod for a Water or Wind target.
- Reserve Prism Pod when pursuing its demonstrated Prismatic outcome, rather than treating it as a standard type-matching Pod.
These examples should not be read as a complete rule for every Jini. Roco Kingdom is advertised as having more than 400 Jinies and an 18-class elemental system on its official Steam listing, but the available footage does not map every class to a specific Pod.
What Does the Prism Pod Demonstration Mean?
The official video shows a Jini captured with a Prism Pod becoming Prismatic. This is the stated result after a successful capture with that Pod. It does not give a 100% capture success rate.
Prismatic should also be kept distinct from Chromatic. The available sources do not confirm that these terms describe the same outcome, nor do they publish Chromatic odds. A successful capture yielding Prismatic must not be confused with guaranteed capture success, a guaranteed Chromatic encounter, or a replacement for every other Pod type.
What Is Still Unconfirmed?
The reviewed international sources do not provide the following complete reference data:
- Exact catch odds or type-based multipliers
- Pod costs, recipes, or crafting requirements
- Shop availability and supply limits
- The full Pod catalogue
- Trade or gift restrictions
- Whether the beta and launch versions will use identical values
The developer interview discusses different Pod probabilities and type matching, but supplies no numbers. Treat those details as build-preview information until an official guide or in-game documentation confirms them. For the latest beta context, remember that the current test is not a final global release specification.
